Reading assessment rubrics; fluency and comprehension measures (PDF)
These rubrics are designed to identify core components of students' fluency and comprehension in reading - the latter measured by retell. The handwritten coding to the left of the resource sheet indicates an expected cohort capability at early reading and subsequent Year levels. The rubrics may be used at independent and instructional levels of text and compared to cohort expected levels in reading. By using these rubrics an important differentiation can be made between a student's fluency and comprehension levels. Please read further information on the Literacy Online discussion forum, June 2011
