The Secondary Literacy Project (SLP) is a Ministry of Education funded professional development initiative in the area of cross-curricula secondary school literacy (reading and writing). Participating schools will receive support, including professional development support and some funding, over a two-year period.
Thirty schools will participate in 2009-2010, and another 30 will participate in 2010-2011. The Woolf Fisher Research Centre is responsible for the national coordination of SLP. External professional development support is delivered via regional School Support Services.
