  • Guided Reading: Years 1 to 4 Package: this professional development package supports teachers of years 1–4 to effectively use the guided reading approach to provide explicit instruction that is responsive to the diverse needs of their students. It contains a teacher's guide, two videotapes of a guided reading lesson: one with a year 1 class and one with a year 3 class, and a CD with examples of students reading. The teacher's guide provides explicit and detailed information about guided reading, including planning for, managing, implementing, and monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the guided reading instruction.

  • Guided Reading: Years 5 to 8 Package: this professional development package has been designed to help teachers of years 5–8 use the guided reading approach effectively to support students as they engage with increasingly complex texts. It contains a teacher's guide and a videotape featuring four guided reading lessons. The teacher's guide provides explicit and detailed information about guided reading, including planning for, managing, implementing, and monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the guided reading instruction.
  • Teaching Reading Comprehension (Davis A, 2007. Learning Media): This book is written from a teacher’s perspective and provides hands-on strategy instruction supported by a variety of examples. Teachers in years 4–8 will find practical, research-based information on all aspects of teaching reading comprehension, including word strategies, vocabulary strategies, fluency, and comprehension strategies.
