Literacy Online. Every child literate - a shared responsibility.

Literacy Units: Level 1

  • Shadows - This unit is written for students in Levels 1 and 2 of the New Zealand curriculum with emphasis on practical science investigations, oral language and topic specific vocabulary. It provides opportunities for students to explore, record findings about everyday phenomena (shadows), and to seek and describe patterns in physical phenomena (shadows). This unit has video clips throughout which demonstrate embeddng literacy into the science curriculum.
